Abstract:

This paper examines the political nature of art and its relationship to cultural imperialism, focusing on Turkey. It discusses how certain art forms inherently convey political messages and distinguishes between cultural diversity and imperialism. Using insights from historical debates, particularly from Ant Journal in the 1960s, it analyzes the perspectives of Turkish artists and folklorists. Through this analysis, the paper sheds light on the complex interplay between art, politics, and cultural hegemony.
