Prof. Dr. Ali Bayar will give a talk on ”Economic Modelling in the Mediterranean Countries”

Yaşar University Center for Mediterranean Studies will organize a seminar with the title “Economic Modelling in the Mediterranean Countries” by Prof.Dr. Ali Bayar, President of ECOMOD. The seminar will take place on 03 May 2016 Tuesday, at 10:00 at the Yaşar University Selçuk Yaşar Campus, New Building Conference Room. Faculty and graduate students and all interested are welcome to attend.

Prof.Dr. Ali Bayar Biography

Prof. Bayar is specialized in policy modelling for impact assessment, scenario analysis, forecasting, and projections. He holds a BA in Economics, an MA in Econometrics, a PhD in Economics, all from the Free University of Brussels, and several business and government management executive certificates from Harvard University and Columbia University.
Prof. Bayar is Associate Editor of the international journal Public Finance and of the European Review of Economics and Finance and a referee for several international journals and publishers. He has published a large number of scientific articles, books and book chapters and won several awards and scholarships for academic achievement in the USA, Belgium, and Turkey. He presented more than 200 research papers at major international conferences and chaired a large number of major international scientific conferences.
Prof. Bayar provides advisory, consulting, and training services to a large number of major institutions on all continents including the European Central Bank, Federal Reserve, the European Commission, the UNCTAD, the UNDP, the World Bank, the IMF, the International Labour Organization, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, the OECD, Asian Development Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, many governments, business organizations, and several top Fortune 100 companies.
Prof. Bayar has initiated, led and co-coordinated a large number of policy-oriented research projects using advanced econometric modeling techniques in the fields of macroeconomic policy, energy, public finance, forecasting, labor market issues, sectoral issues, environmental issues, regional policy, European Economic and Monetary Union, EU enlargement, WTO related issues, trade analysis, regional integration, development economics, transition economies (Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Poland, Slovenia, Romania, Azerbaijan), Middle East and North African economies, Latin American countries, African countries, natural resource rich countries, and EU outermost regions.
